From Swedish to English...my new hobbie =)

For my second entry, in quite a long time, I decided to let you all know what I have been doing these days.

Well, as I haven't been able to find a decent job I have spending my days studying, reading and learning a new language which is Swedish.

So, I try to translate small texts from Swedish to English everyday because it's a great way to increase one's vocabulary.

Here's my version (in English) of a lovely Håkan Hellström called "Brännö serenad"


What do you know about the moonlight
before you have been broken under it
and what do you know about the dawn
before your face every morning
with the same tired eyes.

What do you know about the sun
before switching off all the lights
And what do you know about never wanting to wake up
because you'll see your youth broken before you

And what do you know about love
before you tried, in vain, to hate it
And what do you know when
the heart burns so bad for love that
cannot die but it can not longer live either.

She'll never come back
She'll never come back

It's my own fault
Whatever happens with my heart
because I always knew that you wouldn't stay, stay
Id' rather be alone than happy with someone else

So, spread out gasoline over the sunset
Tear down the city
Pour the sea away to the horizon
Silence ALL music
She won't come back here again.

Well, this is my first try, so if any of you guys have any suggestions related to the translation, pls feel free to tell me cause I'm learning and I would appreciate some feedback, ;)
